Day 11 - Ferry to Douglas

So the adventure continues. A quick stop off to hire a car for later in the trip before farewelling Michael and Pam and boarding our ferry for the Isle of Man. We were glad of booked seats on the ferry as it was very full and packed downstairs. No worries for us though with table service for meals and (free) non alcoholic drinks. On arrival we decided to get a taxi to our accommodation to meet our no doubt nervous host's mother at Castletown. We booked the accommodation over a TT Internet forum having never met our host or them us. However all worked out brilliantly and it is actually nice to be staying away from the very busy and packed Douglas. The ride over in the taxi revealed some lovely views and this really is a wonderful place. So once the gear was dropped off it was a bus in to town then a quick stop off for steak and beer and a BBQ with some TT veterans. This proved to be a master stroke for a variety of reasons. We were told an excellent spot to watch the racing from (thanks Dave) and also were treated to the RAF Red Arrows flying over Douglas at 7:30pm. Brilliant show and lots of photos to follow. We pulled the pin early about 9pm to head back to Castletown and meet up with our host Jen.
