Ad2uktrip: Day 13 - Rail Foaming Day

Today was train ride day! We started at 10am with the Isle of Man Steam Railway from Castletown to Douglas. The at Douglas it was the Horse Drawn Tram around the Prominade to catch the Manx Electric Railway to Laxey, then the Mountain Railway up past The Bungalow (a famous part of the TT Course) to Snaefell summit, then back down the hill and a continuation of the electric railway from Laxey to Ramsey. The journey was interesting and scenic, but pretty slow - so we opted to catch the bus from Ramsey to Douglas to shorten the return journey. I has wanted to ask someone about how regulation worked on the isle, but the services were all absolutely packed with the 80,000 population of the Isle of Man becoming between 120,000 and 160,000 during the TT. So I left them to carry on with their duties. Back in Douglas it was a compulsory visit to the merchandise shops and then a reasonably long wait for the bus back to Castletown. Another great day finished off with a nice dinner out with Phil and Kate (2 very good friends of Alyson's Dad).Bonus - Phil has offered to drive us around the TT course in his open top BMW on Saturday!
